Communication module integration process
The integrated PROFINET interface is used for programming, HMI communication, and communication between PLC. In addition, it also supports communication with third-party devices through open Ethernet protocol. The interface has an RJ45 connector with auto-cross-over capability, providing data transfer rates of 10/100 Mbit/s. It supports up to 16 Ethernet connections and the following protocols: TCP/ IPNative, ISO-ON-TCP, and S7 communication.
The SIMATIC S7-1200 CPU can add up to three communication modules. RS485 and RS232 communication modules provide connections for point-to-point serial communication. The extended instruction or library function, USS driver protocol, Modbus RTU master station, and slave station protocols are used in the configuration and programming of the communication, which is all included in the SimaticStep 7 Basic engineering configuration system.
High-speed input
