Samson 3730-2 electro-pneumatic positioner adopts die-cast aluminum or stainless steel housing. It is a linear actuator product conforming to IEC 60534-6, VDI / VDE 3847, or SAMSON one-piece accessory. The Samson 3730-2 electro-pneumatic positioner uses the TRAVIS-VIEW software to configure through the computer through the SSP interface. Samson 3730-2 electro-pneumatic positioner has preset parameters and only values that deviate from the standard need to be adjusted. The travel sensor calibrated by Samson 3730-2 electro-pneumatic positioner does not contain gears that are susceptible to wear.
The electro-pneumatic positioner is mounted on pneumatic control valves and is used to assign the valve position to the control signal. The electric signal from a controlling system is compared to the travel or the rotational angle of the control valve and signal pressure is produced for the actuator. The positioner consists of a travel sensor system proportional to resistance, an analog i/p converter with a downstream air capacity booster, and the electronics with a microcontroller.
The positioner is fitted with three binary contacts as standard: A fault alarm output indicates a fault to the control room and two configurable software limit switches are used to indicate the end positions of the valve. The valve position is transmitted as either an angle of rotation or travel to the pick-up lever and to the travel sensor and supplied to an analog PD controller. An A/D converter transmits the position of the valve to the microcontroller. The PD controller compares this actual position to the 4 to 20 mA DC control signal after it has been converted by the A/D converter. In case of a setpoint deviation, the activation of the i/p converter is changed so that the actuator of the control valve is pressurized or vented accordingly over the downstream booster. As a result, the closure member of the valve is moved to the position determined by the set point.
The supply air is supplied to the booster and the pressure regulator. An intermediate flow regulator with fixed settings is used to purge the positioner and, at the same time, guarantees trouble-free operation of the booster. The output signal pressure supplied by the booster can be limited by software. The volume restriction Q is used to optimize the positioner. The extended EXPERTplus diagnostics are integrated into the positioner. They provide information on the positioner and generate diagnostic and status messages, which allow faults to be pinpointed quickly.
